PlayStation3 to cost Pounds 120 more than in US

Evening Standard (London),

SONY'S much-delayed PlayStation 3 console will go on sale in Britain on 23 March with a price tag of Pounds 425.
The PS3, which was available in US shops in November, is expected to sell out despite an estimated 300,000 being shipped to Britain for the launch.
However, experts today warned that British consumers could be ripped off by the high price. In America the console costs $599 (Pounds 303).
Tom Dunmore of Stuff Magazine said: "Every electronics company thinks they can get away with charging the UK more.
"That said, I've absolutely no doubt that 300,000 units won't be enough and we will see queues around the block for the launch.
"This is the most technologically advanced console out there, and the inclusion of Blu-Ray DVD capabilities will help it. I think the big question is going to be how many high quality games Sony will have on sale at the launch. It could be that the PS3 is more of a slow burn in terms of sales."
The console will go head to head with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii, which was last year's must-have gadget.

Sony Computer Entertainment UK will be launching the PS3 with more than 30 titles.
